Hightlights: Pompei’s lure is strong. This ancient site in southern Italy dramatically captures a Roman town in the shadow of a volcano, exactly as it was 2000 years ago. The archeological site is a vast 150 acres – figure out where to start and what to see on a private Pompei tour with a knowledgeable local guide.
Itinerary: A day spent between history and local flavours.
Upon at the designated pick up location, we will start the jouney to Pompeii, Herculaneum and to cool down to a local winery that produces a very small and unique variety of wine!
A 2 hours tour of Pompeii allows seeing in detail the best parts of the ancient town where the most important public buildings, homes and shops are located.
Highlights: the Marina Gate, the Basilica (court house), the Forum (main square), the Forum baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium Capuano, the house of Tragic Poet, the plaster casts.
About 2 hours in Herculaneum with Temple of the Augustali, the beach where more then 300 skeletons were found, the thermal baths, the forum, the house of Neptune and Amphitrite, the Samnite house, the gymnasium, the house of the Dears and much more.
The tour will continue in the suggestive beauty of the National park of the Vesuvio to visit a local vineyard, there you could also assist the production system with the explanation of the chiefwinemaker, after the visit there will be time for lunch with all the Neapolitan typical products accompained by a tasting of different kind of their wine.
